OUR NAME: We are proud to be the newest restaurant & private function space in the historic town of Pembroke, MA. To honor the community, we named our restaurant after one of the five shipyards once located on Pembroke's North River. OUR CONCEPT: A gastropub is a British term for a public house that specializes in serving high-quality food. Gastropubs originated in the 1990's and have become increasingly popular over the last 10 years. The word gastropub is a blend of the words pub and gastronomy; gastronomy simply being the art and practice of selecting, cooking and eating good food. Our Executive Chef, Eric Bogardus has created a globally-influenced, locally-inspired menu featuring the very best comfort food for your enjoyment. OUR MISSION: Our goal is to become a central meeting house for local residents and the ideal dining destination for the community. We're dedicated to the celebration of great food, great beer and great service—we look forward to seeing you soon! OUR TEAM: We pulled in the experts to bring you the best-of-the-best at Turner's Yard! In addition to Tim Wakefield formerly of the Boston Red Sox, Shawn Thornton of the Boston Bruins and Ken Casey, frontman for Dropkick Murphys, here are the folks that make Turner's Yard such a great place to be. In 2005, Bogardus was nominated for and became one of five finalist candidates for consideration as White House Chef. After travels in China, Bogardus most recently returned to Locke-Ober as consulting chef for Lydia Shire. With the opening of Citrio in 2008, a café, catering and gourmet food shop located in Newton Highlands, Bogardus fulfilled his dream of owning his own business while highlighting his versatility and passion as one of Boston's best chefs. Eric also currently serves as the Executive Chef of Petit Robert Central in Boston’s Downtown Crossing.
